The Digital Sexual Violence Support Centre
About Us
The Digital Sexual Violence Support Centre (DSVSC) is a Canadian non-profit that provides support to adult survivors of technology-facilitated sexual violence (TFSV) through programs, workshops, policy advocacy and knowledge mobilization.
We define technology-facilitated sexual violence (TFSV) as the manipulation of digital and online mediums to cause sexual harassment, intimidation or humiliation against an individual or a group. Examples of TFSV can include intimate image abuse (formerly called revenge porn), sexual deepfakes, online sexual harassment, doxxing of sexual information, sextortion, etc.

Our History

The Digital Sexual Violence Support Centre (DSVSC) was founded as a non-profit in November 2023, to fill the national service gap in supporting adult survivors of technology-facilitated sexual violence. Part of this service gap is contextualized by a lack of resources and best practices to address, process and legally file cases of TFSV in Canada.
From this service gap, we identified that women, queer and non-binary folks are disproportionately targeted for TFSV through online platforms in Canada, which has shaped our advocacy for an intersectional feminist approach to supporting survivors.

Today, the DSVSC works with other organizations in using evidence-based research to develop workshops and educational resources to support TFSV survivors' healing, encourage knowledge mobilization, and prioritize the voices of BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals.
